Superior Feelings

She falls among the riverfolk
Drowning in her tears
She's battered by the raging current
As it steals away her years

This river carved the canyons
All across her arms
Deeper, deeper, ever deeper
But where are the alarms?

No-one tries to help her
All avert their eyes
Not even she attempts a rescue
She's caught until she dies

And it was such a sad day
A girl caught in such a bad way
No stitches caught her soul
She fell into a different hole

And here a man is screaming
As people pass him by
He shouts until his voice is hoarse
And no-one asks him why

With tremendous urgency
He pleads for just one ear
But all the ears just walk away
Avoiding going near

Within three days, the man is gone
He's not saying his daily prayers
No-one knows where he's gone to
And no-one even cares

And it was such a sad day
A man's mind in such a bad way
No people caught his words
His pleadings went unheard
